On Friday, September 19, Chattooga County officers traveled to a home on Highway 114 after receiving a call about a domestic dispute.

The complainant told officers that she had fallen asleep at a friend's house and was late picking up her children. She also said that he and her husband, Mr. Jeremy Hines, got into a verbal argument. 

Mr. Hines' separated wife also reported that after she picked up her children and had a verbal disagreement, she left Mr. Hines' home. She had to return shortly after leaving because she remembered that Mr. Hines owed her money.

According to his wife, Mr. Hines grabbed the driver side window on the car she was driving, which belonged to her mother, and pulled on it, causing it to shatter.

After the officer spoke with Mr. Hines, he confirmed that he broke the car window.

Mr. Hines was taken to the Chattooga County Jail for damage of property.

One woman traveled to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office on September 22nd after being a victim of a hit and run.

The woman told officers that when she was at church on the 14th, someone asked her what happened to her car. Since she did not know what she meant, she went to investigate. She saw that someone had bumped into the passenger side of her vehicle. Damage had been done to the front and rear passenger doors.

A report was filed for insurance purposes. 

A woman living on Maplewood in Summerville called Chattooga County officers on September 16th after her home was broken into.

She believed that her ex-boyfriend came into her apartment and took some items. She noted that her child's trophy, girls clothes, a Wii, an Xbox controller, Nike football socks, and her medication was missing.

She knows that her ex-boyfriend has a key to the home, and assumes that he took her items while retrieving his own items from the house.

The case was forwarded to Investigators. 

On September 8th, a Chattooga County officer was called to Farmersville Road after receiving a call about a theft.

The homeowner told the officer that he left his home around noon that day and arrived later at 3:00 pm to discover the theft.

The homeowner also reported that he noticed that the front door was not locked as he entered the home. He saw that the television was missing from the living room, as well as the televisions from his bedroom and his parents' bedroom. The family gun cabinet had been damaged, and six guns had been taken. Two crossbows were also stolen from the home.

There were no signs of forced entry into the home.

The case was turned over to an investigator shortly after the officer's arrival. 

On Tuesday, September 2nd, Chattooga County officers were brought to Back Penn Road due to a civil matter.

The owner of the property told officers that he recently discovered that the previous tenant abandoned several animals and items. The animals included a cat, a dog, and several kittens. The animals had been left without food or water after the tenant left as well.

The other miscellaneous items left in the house included old furniture, clutter, and trash. The officers claimed the home unfit for residency. Animal control arrived to take care of the animals. The property owner requested a report for documentation. 

A Chattooga County officer traveled to Taliaferro Springs Road in reference to a burglary on September 2nd.

The owner of the property on Taliaferro Springs Road had visited the residence about a week ago, since she rents the property out to others.  When she pulled up to the home that day, she saw that the doors were left open and the vehicle left there had been broken into.

The computer chip from the engine of the car was stolen, and the items stolen from inside the house included furniture, tool boxes with mechanic tools, a ping pong table, and a big screen television.

Other items were also taken from closets and a barn at the back of the residence.

Chattooga County officers were called to a home on Highway 337 on September 18th after receiving a 911 call about a domestic dispute.

After the officers arrived on scene, they met with the complainant. The woman had several wounds on her body, including one covered by a rag on her left hand, and a burned/raw area on her leg. She allowed EMS attention while the officer interrogated her. She eventually revealed that her boyfriend had run her over in his car.

While the couple was riding together in his car earlier, she had cut her hand with scissors. She got out of his vehicle and essentially hitchhiked to the residence that she called 911 from.

The woman knew the owner of the property, but the not resident. The woman living in the home allowed her in to use the phone and clean up. After the resident knew the injured woman was fine, she went to bed.

The injured woman asked her boyfriend to come to the home so she could get her things from his car; while he was there, they spoke briefly. While she was getting her things from his car, he began putting the car in motion, moving backwards and forwards several times, so that she would fall out of the vehicle. She was thrown from the car and was run over before he left the property.

The injured woman then called 911 to receive medical attention and lawful protection.

An Investigator was called to the scene shortly afterwards. 

A report of property damage brought a Chattooga County officer to Palm Tree Road on September 17th.

The complainant told the officer that between 3:30 and 4:00 pm that day, a school bus was turning around across the street from her residence and backed into her wooden fence in her front yard.

The complainant was told to contact the Transportation Board to report the damage and to identify the bus driver at the time of the accident.
