On September 15th, Chattooga County officers were called to Maple Wood Drive Apartments due to a domestic dispute.
One woman told officers that earlier her one-year-old child entered the apartment while everyone else was outside. While inside, the child locked the door.
The woman called the maintenance manager, but he did not have a key to the residence. As a last resort, the woman kicked the door open to get the child.
A report was filed for future use.
MRS. EULA BELLE SCOGGINS, age 70, of Ramey Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, evening at her residence. She was born in Calhoun, Georgia on December 27, 1943 to the late Otis Richard and Eula Beatrice Flippo Bennett. Mrs. Scoggins was Baptist by Faith and was preceded in death by siblings, Ruby Louise Bennett, William O. Bennett, Dewey Lee Bennett, Archie B. Bennett, and Grady A. Bennett.
Surviving are Her husband, Donny Scoggins; sons and spouse, Kevin & Darlene Scoggins and Brent Scoggins; sister and spouse, Drucilla & Dewey Ragland; brother and spouse, James Robert (Bob) & Peggy Bennett; grandchildren, Brandi & Terry Eller and Jennifer & Nathan Thompson; great grandchildren, Alex Stewart, Logan Lary, Sara Thompson, and Addie Thompson; care giver, Terri Blair; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mr. James “Jim” LeRoy Crowe, age 92, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Crowe was born November 4, 1921, in Ft. Payne, AL, the son of the late Rev. Franklin Eaton and Virgie Reece Crowe. Mr. Crowe was a mechanic, farmer, and a member of the New Hope Independent Church. Jamestown, AL, and was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Pauline Dempsey Crowe, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Odell Hammett, grandchildren, Dale (Vicki) Hammett, Jeff Hammett, Cindy (Billy Don) DeBerry, great-grandchildren, Meagan RuBright, Josh Hammett, Jon Hammett, Katlin Lindsey, Sidney Hammett, Lauren Hammett, Trey DeBerry, Emily DeBerry, great-great-grandchildren, Ivy RuBright, Eva Cannon, Easton Johnson, and sister-in-law, Jeneal Wilson.

Georgia farmer Randy Dowdy just harvested the highest soybean yield in Georgia history. Dowdy regularly lands at the top of the heap for corn yield, but also has a soybean crop worth bragging about this year.
Dowdy’s soybeans yielded an astonishing 110.66 bushels per acre, crushing the previous record of approximately 82 bushels per acre, according to retired University of Georgia extension agronomist John Woodruff.
He is the first person in the world — on record — to achieve both 400-plus bushels of corn and 100-plus bushels of soybeans per acre in the same year.
For his award-winning soybean crop, Dowdy used Southern States Cooperative’s SS 4917N R2 seeds, a maturity soybean with very good stress tolerance that does well in places where soybean cyst nematode is a problem.
The Margin Protection Program, which replaces the Milk Income Loss Contract program, gives participating dairy producers the flexibility to select coverage levels best suited for their operation. Enrollment begins Sept. 2 and ends on Nov. 28 for 2014 and 2015. Participating farmers must remain in the program through 2018 and pay a minimum $100 administrative fee each year. Producers have the option of selecting a different coverage level during open enrollment each year.
The 2014 Farm Bill also established the Dairy Product Donation Program. The program authorizes USDA to purchase and donate dairy products to nonprofit organizations that provide nutrition assistance to low-income families. Purchases only occur during periods of low dairy margins. Dairy operators do not need to enroll to benefit from the Dairy Product Donation Program.

The ABS Global AI Management School offers students the opportunity to learn AI techniques and herd management under skilled supervision. The curriculum includes Anatomy and Reproduction; Reproduction and Fertility; Heat Detection; Nutrition; Principles of Genetics and Sire Selection; Herd Management Success; Proper Semen Placement; and Insemination Practice. Also, Synchronization of Beef Cattle and Planned Breeding of Dairy Heifers will be introduced. This is a comprehensive course consisting of 24 hours of instruction: 14 hours in the classroom and 10 hours in lab working with cattle.

AGCO Chief Executive Officer Martin Richenhagen spoke with Bloomberg News about the issue of lowering commodity prices.
Mr. Richenhagen acknowledged that the drop in prices is difficult, but it would not be nearly as difficult as the hardship of the 1990s.
Mr. Richenhagen noted that the drop will not last as long, and that the drop is on a different level than before.
The CEO can acknowledge that the price drop is negative, but is not traumatic. He also said that he expects that the market for farm equipment will improve by the year 2016.
