On Saturday, July 19th, a theft on Glenn Drive caught the attention of the Chattooga County deputies.

They arrived on the scene around 7:35 pm and were able to speak with the victim of the theft. The victim works with Fields Walk Trailer Park, and stores his tools, equipment, and supplies in a mobile home on site. A witness had seen a man come out of one of the windows of the mobile home, and told the victim. 

Once the owner went to investigate, he saw that an air compressor had been moved from the window and set aside. He also saw that a large Bostitch Nailer, which was valued between $300 to $600.

The witness told officers that he could see the man leave the window from his home, and was able to take a picture with his cell phone. The officers were able to take note of the thief's clothing and car type.

The theft is still under investigation. 

On Friday, July 18th, a family's physical dispute called Chattooga County officers to a home on Highway 114. 

The father in the family was able to talk to officers once they arrived to his home around 10:00 pm. 

His son had arrived home and began drinking whiskey. The family began discussing the son's lack of a state of Georgia driver's license. The son became angry and started to yell and throw things. The father told him to stop, but the mother became mad at her husband and said that he could not talk to her son "that way." The father told both the son and mother that they should leave.

The son and mother did begin to leave, and more arguing continued. The son ran back into the house, pushed his father against a freezer in a back room, and began choking him with both hands. The father eventually broke loose of his son's grip and retrieved a baseball bat from a different room. Before he used it, the mother picked up a broom and hit him in the shoulder. 

The father said that after he was hit, he handed the bat to his wife and called 911. The father said that as he was calling, his son and wife left and went to his sister-in-law's home in Alabama. 

No arrests were made according to the report.  

On Thursday, July 17th, Chattooga County officers were called to Back Berryton around 1:00 am because of a domestic dispute.

A couple began arguing inside the home and the woman began hitting and cursing at her boyfriend. The man said that he would call 911 if she did not stop; she then proceeded to grab a knife from the kitchen. The man found a cell phone and began to call the police. When she discovered that he had actually called 911, she began putting her belongings in the man's truck. The officers arrived before she could leave in the truck, so she fled on foot.

Investigators were called to the scene, but the woman was not found. 

Chattooga County officers were called in response to a domestic dispute on Tuesday, July 15th.

 When officers arrived, they saw a suit case filled with clothes at the end of a driveway, and a male and female beside the house arguing. The male told officers that the female was kicking him out. The man had lived there for two years and he was aware that the woman must evict him, and he did not have to leave until he was legally evicted.

The woman asked officers for the proper steps to evict the man, and officers informed her.

The woman asked that the man remove himself from the property until she could retrieve her car and could physically go complete the proper process. The woman also said that the man could stay at the home that night since she was working and would not be home.

The incident was filed for future reference. 

A man living off of Mahan Road called Chattooga County officers to his home on July 13th after reporting an unknown person breaking into his vehicles.

The man said that he had heard a noise outside earlier but did not check to see the source. He went outside to his vehicles later to see that a GPS unit, a bible, and work ID card were missing from one car, while the other car's center console had been opened.

No physical damage was done to either vehicle.

The incident is still under investigation. 

Chattooga County officers were brought to Highway 48 on Saturday, July 12th because of a possible wreck with a four-wheeler.

Summerville Police Department units had already arrived when Chattooga County deputies arrived at the intersection of Highway 48 and Marks Hill. One officer said that he saw someone push a four-wheeler off of an embankment near the intersection. The yellow vehicle was seen in bushes at the bottom of the embankment.

The vehicle was towed and the case is still under investigation. 

This past Saturday, July 12th, Chattooga County officers traveled to Martin Dairy Road in reference to damaged property.

Officers arrived around 3:30 to meet with the homeowner. She said that she began putting gas into her riding lawnmower and noticed gas coming out of the fuel line and the line had been cut. She later saw a black and silver pocketknife on top of the lawnmower's engine. She did not recognize the knife and proceeded to call authorities.

The case is still under investigation. 

On this Friday, July 12th, Chattooga County officers were called to the Trion Walmart around 10:00 am due to a report of shoplifting.

A woman was seen putting two shirts in her purse, and exiting the store without paying for them. An employee told officers that the woman was trespassing on Walmart property, since she was banned from a previous incident. When the employee went to call 911, the shoplifter appeared to have a seizure. Emergency Medical Services responded, but the shoplifter's mother refused transportation to the hospital.

The woman was released, but she will have a warrant for her charges. 

A woman was at Parts City Auto Store when she called Chattooga County officers.

The woman went to Parts City to try to get her tires repaired, and once she was at the shop she called officers to report her husband for cutting her tires. Officers went to his home on Highway 337 to speak with him, where he denied cutting her tires. He did admit to breaking the passenger side window of the locked car to retrieve paperwork earlier that morning, however.

The case is still under investigation. 

Chattooga County officers were called to Lyerly Dam Road on Sunday, July 13th due to a theft. 

Officers met with the homeowner, who told them that he had seen a male with shoulder-length hair in the front passenger side of his vehicle. He yelled after the intruder, but he ran. The homeowner ran after the intruder, but could not catch him. Once he returned to his car, he saw that the glove box had been opened, and over $350 had been taken from a wallet inside. He later noticed that an Xbox game was missing as well.

The case is still under investigation.
