A man traveled to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office to report stolen parts from his motorcycle.

The man explained to officers that the motorcycle had been stolen in Gordon County. He had recently recovered it, but several pieces were missing. The man had been informed of some places that the pieces might be, and he wished to bring officers with him.

When the man and a deputy arrived to one of the possible locations, the property owners told the two that a man was using their shop to take parts off of a motorcycle. The property owners allowed the two to look through the shop, where the motorcycle owner was able to identify his fenders, a back seat, and chrome pieces. The parts were valued around $1000. The owner regained his property, the deputy filed a report and a detective was contacted to investigate further. 

Chattooga County officers were called to Dollar Tree on June 23rd due to a shoplifting call.

 The officers arrived and saw the store manager and a female identified as Nicole Stoker outside the store. The manager told officers that Ms. Stoker had paid for a few items and left the store. She returned a little while later and shopped throughout the store. Ms. Stoker had found a yellow bag and placed seventeen other items in the bag. Ms. Stoker placed the yellow bag in her purse and walked past the cashier without paying. The store manager found her by the exit doors and called authorities when she did not have a receipt for her items.

Ms. Stoker told the store manager and officers that she would call someone to pay for the items taken from the store. Ms. Stoker was arrested for Theft by Shoplifting and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

Chattooga County deputies were brought to Walmart after a report of shoplifting.

Store video and witness statements showed that two females were selecting items and placing them into a shopping cart that held a black trash can. The women were placing clothes into the trash can as they shopped.

The women were identified as Autumn Robison and Samantha Eaton. The two were approached in the Lawn and Garden center after not paying for the items in the trash can. Walmart management found the clothing items, and valued the items close to $250. They could not provide a receipt for the payment of the clothes, so they were held in the Walmart management office.

Ms. Robison and Ms. Eaton were arrested for Theft by Shoplifting and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

A house on Back Berryton Road caught fire on June 16th.

Chattooga County officers reported to the home around 10:30 pm. The house's entire back side had been engulfed in flames at that point.

Fire units from Summerville, Hays State Prison, and Menlo Fire Departments reported immediately and began to fight the fire. After the fire had died down, officers took note that the entire back side and the interior of the home had been severely burned. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. 

Chattooga County deputies pulled over a woman drunkenly driving a small child on June 14th.

Kristin Morgan was pulled over after a deputy saw her failing to maintain one lane along Highway 27. The deputy immediately smelled alcoholic odor and noticed slurred speech. When asked to provide her driver's license, Ms. Morgan handed over a credit card. Eventually, Ms. Morgan was able to provide her license to the deputy.

 Ms. Morgan admitted to having an alcoholic beverage an hour and a half before being pulled over, and tested over the legal limit of alcohol. When she tested for blood alcohol content later at the Chattooga County Jail, her results were .108 BAC. Ms. Morgan was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Endangering a Child Under 14, and Failure to Maintain Lane.

An argument between two women resulted in jewelry theft.

On June 19th, a female victim reported that Cynthia Todd stole five silver rings from her home. Ms. Todd allegedly entered through the victim's back door and took the rings from a bedside drawer. Ms. Todd was later in possession of four of the reported rings.

 The rings were valued at nearly $400. Ms. Todd told authorities that the victim owed her $160, but the victim claimed that she did not owe her any money. Ms. Todd was arrested for theft and criminal trespassing and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

A local resident crashed into the front of a Dollar General building and proceeded to run from the scene this past Thursday.

Mr. Danny Green pulled into the parking lot of the store, but did not park in a designated spot. Immediately after wrecking into the front of the building, Mr. Green backed up and headed in the direction of Alpine Street. Chattooga County officers were able to find Mr. Green's vehicle driving along Highway 114 a few hours later, since there was extensive damage to the front bumper of his automobile. Officers attempted to pull Mr. Green over for interrogation, but as soon as he pulled his vehicle to the side of the road, he fled on foot. Mr. Green was wearing swim trunks, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.

Mr. Green attempted to flee two more times, but was eventually taken into custody after being pursued on Highway 100.  

Chattooga County officers were called to Reed Street on June 26th in reference to a stolen pay card.

One man told officers that his brother allowed a woman to use his pay card to get a hotel room. The woman has not had contact with the cardholder since then.

The family was advised to cancel the card and have a new one made under their name. 

On Wednesday, June 25th, a Chattooga County deputy was called to Hair Lake Road due to harassing phone calls.

 The officer arrived on the scene at approximately 9:40 pm. The victim told the officer that he had been receiving numerous phone calls from another man that claimed that he owed him $200. The owed money allegedly came from a vehicle purchase where the victim's payment was short. 

The victim also told officers that the man had attempted to sell him pain medication, which the victim declined.

The victim was informed of further procedures and to report any further harassment. 

Chattooga County officers were called to a residence on Sloppy Floyd Lake Road due to prowlers on the property. 

On June 27th, a homeowner called authorities and told them that he and his daughters have noticed somebody walking around on the hill behind the residence. He has also heard someone opening and closing his vehicle door at night.

The homeowner also told authorities that the lock on the shed behind his home looked as if someone had tried to cut the lock off.
