Based on the latest report from the national weather service, Trion City Schools will release at 1:00 p.m. today.
Trion City Schools has announced that there will be no after school activities today due to the weather.
- Administrative: Interns will work closely with the scheduler and staff assistants to complete tasks that are essential for day-to-day office organization. These include answering phones, compiling contact lists, processing constituent mail, completing flag requests, drafting constituent correspondence and assisting with weekly reports.
- Press: Interns will work closely with the Congresswoman’s press team. Tasks include answering phones, compiling daily press and broadcast clips, organizing, maintaining, and updating media lists, drafting press releases, assisting with social media and additional tasks to aid the press team. Experience with the Adobe Suite is required.

- Policy: Interns will work closely with the Congresswoman’s legislative team. Tasks include answering phones, assisting with legislative research, processing constituent mail, attending policy briefings and additional tasks to aid the legislative team.

A Summerville woman has reported that someone has stolen cash and several cast iron skillets, among other items from her home.

Melton deliver the annual State of the Judiciary address. Chief Justice Melton announced that Presiding Justice David Nahmias was voted as the next Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice. Senate Bill 163 was also passed this week to provide a solution to the court’s handling of backlogged cases. Senate Bill 88 passed allowing several innovative measures for Georgia schools. Among these include redirecting observational resources to classrooms who need additional support and offering more innovative programs to promote teacher education programs at Georgia’s historically black colleges and universities. Human trafficking victims are being further supported by Senate Bill 34, which allows these victims to change their name legally “under seal” which is kept from public record. A Summerville homeowner has filed a complaint with the Summerville Police Department after having his windows broken at 2 residences multiple times over the last year.
A Dalton man was arrested over the weekend after a foot pursuit with local law enforcement. Summerville Police Officers charged Brandon Ball with multiple offenses following the chase.
