Trion's baseball team advanced to the semi-finals Thursday with 10-0 and 11-1 victories over Jenkins County on Thursday. They will now travel to Folkston to play Charlton County on Monday. 

The Bulldogs will leave Sunday and head for Waycross. They will take on Charlton County High School in Folkston on Monday in a double header at 5 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Depending on the outcome of those games, Trion could play Charleton County again at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. 

In Golf, the Trion Girl's team advances to the state tournament in Commerce on May 20. John Rollins qualified as an individual for the boys' team. 

A Haywood Valley Road woman last week reported that someone had come into her carport and stole several items from hers and her sister's vehicles.

The woman said all of the items were taken at night and she named a suspect. She also said there there were multiple break-ins in the area that night.  The value of the items taken are listed at $665, according to the report made by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office. 

An allegation of shoplifting led to the arrest of a Summerville woman on other charges.

According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department, it was reported that two women were shoplifting at Walmart. One woman reportedly paid for two items and left with other items she hadn't paid for inside her purse. When confronted outside the store, the woman is alleged to have handed over the items the allegedly hadn't paid for, to the store manager. The woman then is reported to have taken off running, to her vehicle and fleeing the scene.

A Be On The Lookout, or BOLO, was put on the vehicle and it was quickly found by a Summerville Police Officer and stopped in the parking lot of the Mr. Clean Car Wash.  Crystal Brown, of Kay Street, Summerville, said she had no insurance on the vehicle. Her license also came back with a suspended registration, Brown's license came back suspended, as well as a failure to appear. Brown was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

Chattooga County Sheriff's Deputies received a report of a quick change maneuver at Walmart earlier this week.

According to the report, a black male, wearing a black hat with white lettering on the front, blue jeans, and grey and white shirt, short/quick changed a cashier in the amount of $300. Next in line was another black male, wearing grey jogging pants and red shoes. The second man asked the cashier for stamps but quickly left when the cashier said she had none. Both men left in a red, 2013 Chevy Impala four door. The vehicle reportedly came back to Avis Budget Car Rental. The incident was turned over to investigators.

A Summerville man was arrested for simple assault against his grandmother  last week.

According to the report, when deputies arrived at the Back Berryton Road address, deputies heard yelling and screaming from inside the home. Once inside they had to physically separate  Eric Burk from his grandmother.  The grandmother told officers that 17-year-old Burke and his cousin had fought during the night and she had to physically separate them. Deputies saw  a door broken in half and off the hinges. The grandmother said she shoved Burk through the door in self defense. 

Burke was arrested and charged with simple assault under the Family Violence Act. He was taken to jail without incident. 

Chattooga County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a report of woman who had been assaulted walking down the road last week.

According to the report,  deputies found the woman and her mother at the skating rink on Tate Road, Trion. Shyanne Edgeworth reportedly had a cut on the palm of her hand, a swelling eye, and complained of a blow to the back of her head. She refused treatment by EMS, according to the report.

She told officers that she had been with a friend, when a guy showed up, and a woman pushed her up against a wall.

She said she left and returned when someone told her they would give her a ride home, and then several people started yelling at her. She says she was then locked in a bedroom with another woman that began slapping her. She said she was let out of the bedroom after about 15 minutes. She said she was then punched in the head and knocked to the ground and one woman hit her on the face, head and ribs. She said she was then able to leave the residence and was picked up by her mother.

Three people were arrested in the incident. They are: 19-year-old Kristin Wilson, Scoggins Street, Summerville, charged with battery; 20-year-old, Krista Ratliff, of Plum Street, Trion,  charged with simple battery; and 25-year-old Christopher Ruth, of Northern Heights Circle, Summerville, charged with obstruction. 

Two women were arrested for Shoplifting at Walmart this past weekend.

According to the report, 44-year-old Laura Anthony and 26-year-old Andrea Carter. both of First Street, Summerville addresses,  are accused of loading up a shopping cart with a large tote and several items in the tote, and walking out of the store without paying.  The women were stopped by the store's Loss Prevention Associate.

The valued of the items is listed at $682. 89. Both were arrested and charged with shoplifting. 

The Trion High  Baseball team swept Jenkins County at home Thursday to advance in the state playoffs.

Trion easily took game one 10-0 and then game two 11-1.

Trion will now travel to Charlton County on Monday, which is right at the Florida-Georgia line, near Jacksonville, Fl .
