Immortal Darkness will host a benefit Motorcylce ride on March 27th. This ride will go to benefit the Chattooga County Food Pantry. The ride will begin at 1 p.m, with the registration for the ride starting at 11 a.m. on March 27th. The ride will start at 13961 US Highway 27, Trion, Ga. 30753. Cost is $15 per bike, $20 per bike if it has a passenger.
Rep. Eddie Lumsden has given the week 9 update from the Capitol. This week saw the important “Crossover Day” arrive and more than 70 pieces of legislation were passed in the House prior to Crossover Day. In these pieces include House Bill 479 which seeks to repalce Georias antiquated citizen’s arrest law. Another bipartisan measure this week that would address sexual abuse crimes against children in the state. House Bill 109, the “Child Victim Protection Act of 2021,” would extend the amount of time that survivors of childhood sexual abuse can file civil action from two years to four years if the abuse occurred after July 1, 2015 and has proven to have caused physical or psychological harm. A Trion man, and another from Walker County were arrested last Saturday after a routine roadblock revealed them to have marijuana and methamphetamine in their possession.
A verbal disagreement lead to the arrest of one Summerville man, for public intoxication and disorderly conduct on Sunday.
A Summerville Man was arrested for a DUI last week when he was found asleep inside his car, which was found resting in a ditch on Highland Ave.

Leaders of the Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Doris White, chamber member and Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Foundation Trustee, with The Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual Celebrate Catoosa Gala on Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Colonnade Center.
