Trion, Chattooga Cheerleaders Both Take First

Both of Chattooga County's Varsity cheerleading teams came back to town victorious Saturday. Trion High School took first place on Saturday at the Woodland Cheer Classic in the 2-A Division, while Chattooga snagged first in the Coed Division. The competition was held at Woodland High School in Cartersville.  It's the second first place for both teams so far this season. Chattooga has competed three times bringing home two firsts and one second while Trion has brought home two first place trophies in two competitions. The Trion team has won state 4 out of the last 5 years. Both teams will compete at Pepperell High school next weekend.

Sloppy Floyd Park Friends Meet Tuesday

Chamber Luncheon to Feature Sheriff’s Candidates

It's not too late to register for the Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce September luncheon.  This month's luncheon is Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Circle B Farm. Circle B Farm is located at 1516 Fish Hatchery Road, Summerville. Speakers at the luncheon will be the candidates for the November Sheriff's Race, Republican candidate James Dawson and his challenger Democrat Mark Schrader. Cost is $10 with non-member guests free. This month the Chamber welcomes Hibbett Sports which is scheduled to open at the McDonald's Shopping Center between Marvins and the Dollar Tree at the end of October.
