Geraldine K Rutherford obit

Mrs. Geraldine K. Rutherford of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born September 26, 1922  in LaFayette, GA, was a housewife, and a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church.
   Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her husband, Millard S. Rutherford; father and mother, Hushell and Beulah Waters Kellett; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
   Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Evans of Summerville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 4:00 pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.
   Mrs. Rutherford will lie-in-state Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm.
   Pallbearers will be Mike Lanier, Sidney Lanier, Tony Jones, Harmon Petitt, Billy Petitt, and Gerald Dempsey.
   The family request No Food and in lieu-of-flowers donations may be made to the Gideons International or the charity of your choice.

 

Elizabeth Howell Meadows Obit

Elizabeth Howell Meadows of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Redmond Regional Medical Center.  She was born December 28, 1939 in Trion, GA.  She had been employed with Sav-A-Lot and was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell David Meadows; father and mother, Earl Daniel and Bonnie Ruth Tidmore Howell; brother, Mike Howell; and a grandson, Corey Thompson.
   Survivors include  a daughter, Holly Cothran of Summerville, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Victor Shropshire and Neil and Hope Shroppshire of Summerville, GA; step-sons and daughters-in-law, David and Paulette Meadows and Phil and Kathy Meadows of Trion, GA
step-daughter, Janet Waldrop of Leesburg, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Malcolm Dodd of Summerville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Susan Howell of Rossville, GA; grandchildren, Kristina Cothran, Clyde Cothran, Jonathan Shropshire, and Aryan Ludwig Beck; great-grandson, Branden Thompson; several step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Pierce and Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memorial Gardens.
   Mrs. Meadows will lie-in-state Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm.
   Pallbearers will be David Lloyd, Wayne Lloyd, Daniel Howell, Beacher Garmany, Charles Garmany, and Allan Sanders.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Trion United Methodist Church, Louise Stewart, Sue Cheek, Nina Smith and Debbie Hollis.

Mrs. Joye Marie Miller, age 70, of Summerville, GA died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at
her residence.
Mrs. Miller was born June 1, 1940 in Summerville, GA the daughter of the late Elish
and Minnie Lee Fowler Youngblood. She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. Mrs. Miller
was preceded in death by sisters, Christina Carr, Jewel Carver, Annie Koonce, and Cam Reece;
brothers, Dewitt Youngblood and Leonard Youngblood.
Survivors include her children, Glenda Sue Goodson, Deborah Elaine Prince, Sandra Darlene
Hubbard, Tammie Marie Gentry, George E. Miller, Terry D. Miller, and Gary W. Williamson;
brothers, Billy Youngblood and Carlton Lewis; 13 Grandchildren; and 21 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Mason Funeral
Home with Rev. James Slaughter and Rev. Jerry Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow in
Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Abernathy, Ronnie Jackson, Wesley Dawson,
Gene Hampton, Dewayne Treadaway, and James Abernathy.
Mrs. Miller will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from
6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, February 25, 2011.

Gene Paul Moseley obit

Mr. Gene Paul Moseley, age 74, of Lyerly, GA died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Moseley was born September 15, 1936 in Broomtown, Alabama, the son of the late
Eric and Avis Loveless Moseley. He was retired from Mohawk Industries. Mr. Moseley was
a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in
death by a granddaughter, Stefanie Morgan Moseley. Mr. Moseley was a devoted husband of
56 years and a father of 2, grandfather of 3, and great-grand father of 3.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Mincey Moseley, sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and
Gail Moseley, Lyerly, GA, and Marshall & Cora Moseley, Summerville, GA; grandchildren,
Jessica Fletcher and Lisa Moseley; great grandchildren, Evan Fletcher, Callie Fletcher, and
Jaydon Moseley; sisters, Barbara Moseley, Orange Beach, AL, Bonnie Ernst, Atlanta, GA,
Linda Watts, Birmingham, AL; and brother, Marnell Moseley, Gaylesville, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home
with Pastor Danny Harkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers
will be David Fletcher, David Fletcher, JR, Richard Mobbs, Larry Hurley, Dwayne Hurley, and
Steve Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the local Mudboggers.

Doris Campbell Ridenhour obit

Mrs. Doris Campbell Ridenhour, age 80 of Trion, GA passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at her residence. She was born July 21, 1930 in Gordon Co., GA.  She had been employed with the E. T. Barwick Company and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ridenhour was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Morris Campbell; son, Jack O. Campbell; daughter-in-law, Charlene Campbell; and father and mother, Jack Andrew and Annie Sarah Ballard Akins.

Survivors are sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony M. Campbell of Trion, GA; and Kenneth B. and Darlene Campbell of Belmont, NC; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Feb 6, 2011 at 3 pm from the chapel of Erwin-Pettit Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bailey officiating.  Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Ridenhour will lie-in-state on Sunday, Feb 6, 2011 at the Erwin-Pettit Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3pm.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Eugene Sizemore, James Hilton Sizemore, Jr., Billy Wayne Campbell, Russell Townsend, Jr., Butch Young and Billy Price.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Campbell, Jessie Campbell, Carl Towe, Jay Towe and Douglas Towe.
