Mrs. Sarah Kathleen Baggett

Mrs. Sarah Kathleen Baggett, age 91, of Trion, GA died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Hutcheson
Medical Center.
Mrs. Baggett was born July 8, 1918 in Cherokee County, AL the daughter of the late Dayton
and Ovie McRae Henderson. She was a life long resident of the Mountain View Community.
Mrs. Baggett was a charter and life long member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Baggett; and daughter, Lanelle Ray.
Survivors include her son, Allan Baggett; grandchildren, Kym Masters, Kerry Ray, Sherry
Jordan, and Brian Baggett; sisters, Claudia Brown and Ruth Brannon; sister-in-law, Evelyn
Lemming.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton and Rev. Ricky Biddle officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville
Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brian Baggett, Jeff Masters, Chris Jordan, Kerry Ray,
Billy Stewart, and Allan Baggett. Honorary pallbearers will be all member of Mountain View
Baptist Church.
Mrs. Baggett will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from
6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010.

Mrs. Mary S. Littlejohn Ragland

Mrs. Mary S. Littlejohn Ragland, age 90, of Trion GA, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Shepard Hills Health Care Center.

Mrs. Ragland was born Feb. 1, 1919, in Lafayette, GA, the daughter of the late Everette Montague and Mary Alice Dunn Littlejohn. She was a member of the Trion 1st Baptist Church, The Red Hat Society, and the Bridge Club. Mrs. Ragland was  preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward (Chesty) Ragland.

Mrs. Ragland is survived by a niece and her husband, Kathy & Tome Sisemore; a nephew and his wife; Perry & Betty Littlejohn; serveral great and great great Nieces and Nephews; and Cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Warren Moorhead and Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating.  Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetary.  Active pallbearers will be Tom Sisemore, Matthew Debord, William Littlejohn, Barry Debord, Jon Payne, and Billy Hayden. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Shephard Hills Health Care Center.

Mrs. Ragland will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the Family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Tuesday, February 2, 2010.

Town of Trion Workshop and Council Meeting

There will be a Workshop followed by the Regular Council Meeting for the Town of Trion Thursday, January 28, 2010.  The Workshop will begin at 6:00 P.M. The Regular Council Meeting will follow the workshop after a brief break.

 

Roland Scott Nunn Obit

Mr. Roland Scott Nunn, age 79 on 2502 Old Hwy 27, Trion, GA. passed away Juanuary 20, 2010 at the Floyd Medical Center.  Mr. Nunn was born December 23, 1930 in Trion, GA.  He was retired from Mount Vernon Mills where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club, has worked for WGTA Radio Station and was member of the Trion First Baptist Church.  Mr. Nunn was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Nunn was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesse Lee Nunn and Julia Wright Nunn; brother, T. Emmett Nunn and sister, Pearl Williams.

Mr. Nunn was survived by his wife, Mary Esther Mount Nunn of Trion, GA., daughter, Marilyn Nunn of Trion, GA and son, David Nunn of Trion, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2:00pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cordell and Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetary.

Mr. Nunn will lie- in-state Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00pm.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and need to assemble at the funeral home by 1:30pm on Friday: Chris Harris, Leo Lanier, Tip McCollum, Tim Chamlee, J.W. Greenwood, and Vernon Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Bowers, and the Men of First Baptist Church of Trion.

At all other hours the family will be at the residence of the daughters, 41 South Pine Street, Trion, GA.

Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Roland Scott Nunn who passed away on Wednesday.

William E. "Bill" Colquitt, age 81, of Menlo, Georgia, died Sunday, January 17, 2010. 

Surviving are his sisters, Ann Colquitt Harper, Nashville, TN, Betty Colquitt, Menlo, GA; Nephews, Chuck Harper, Nashville, TN, Jeff Colquitt, College Park, GA, Keith Colquitt, Loganville, GA; and serveral cousins.

A Graveside service will be held at 2 PM (est) Wednesday, January 20th at the Bankhead Cemetary, Mentone, AL. 

Family and friends are invited to the residence for viewing on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30pm.

Town of Trion Council Meeting

There will be a Special Called Meeting Thursday, January 14, 2010 in the Town Hall Conference Room.  The meeting will begin at 6:00pm.

 

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss employee health insurance and personnel evaluations.
