MRS. MILLIE RUTH HARDIN, age 87 of Macon, GA, formerly of Trion, GA passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Mrs. Hardin was born on December 27, 1937, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late James Arvill and Evelyn G. Lemming. She was a retiree of Wometco Food Services, where she was the executive assistant to the general manager. She was a faithful member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Millie played basketball in high school and enjoyed bowling, golf, and vacationing in the north Georgia mountains. Her favorite hobby was cooking. She won a Southern Living cooking contest for the Rome region in 1998 with her vegetable casserole. Millie also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, and solitaire. Millie will be remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Elizabeth Hardin of Macon, GA., and brother James F. Lemming, Trion, GA. In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dwight L. Hardin and her sister Margaret A. Williams.
The family is especially thankful for the care and friendship of the special people of Caryle Place where she was a resident for the past 3 years and for the Pine Pointe Hospice nurses and staff that attended her during recent months.
Funeral services will be held January 6, 2025. The family will greet friends from 11am to 12 noon and the funeral will follow at the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating. The burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Dan Logan, Carter Logan, Chris Logan, Ed Cordell, Tim Thompson, and Justin Glaze.

MR. BILLY LAVERNE “WILD BILL” CULBERSON, Jr., age 74 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 in a Rome hospital. He was born in Athens, Tennessee March 11, 1951, son of the late Leonard Laverne and Bessy Velma Burse Culberson. He was Baptist by Faith and a Pulp Wooder and Farm Hand for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ray Culberson, Paul Culberson and Ed Culberson.
Surviving are his son and spouse, Willy and Barbara Culberson; brother, Harve & Jean Culberson; granddaughter, Georgia (Stwart) Kelley; grandsons, Cameron Culberson, Nate Culberson, and Gabe Culberson; several Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Nichols officiating, interment in Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Cameron Culberson, Nate Culberson, Gabe Culberson, GiGi Culberson, Clint Hunter, and Jon Hunter. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 until 3 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

MR. JIMMY EVERETTE TYLER, age 69, of 10th Street-Trion, Georgia, passed away at home on Saturday, January 4, 2025, following an illness. Mr. Tyler was born on September 23, 1955, in Quincy Florida, son of the late Theodore Everette and Mary Elizabeth Hayes Tyler. He was a Truck Driver by trade and Baptist by Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Tyler, Jr.; daughter, Shannon Marie Tyler; brothers, Hoppy Tyler, Danny Tyler and T. Tex Tyler; sisters, Gladys Richards, Louise Miller and Nell Day.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene Tyler; daughters, Kaisha Blackmon, Samantha Carter and Tiffany Moody; sons, Paul T. Carter, Simon Carter; sisters, Jeanette Chambliss, Margie Richardson, and Cindy Tyler; brother, Tony Armstrong; 22 Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 12 Noon from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Brown and Rev. John McGraw officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Nancy Carroll Helms, age 87 of the Ridgeway Community in Trion, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 in a Rome Hospital.
Mrs. Helms was born in Dickson, Tennessee on December 18, 1937, daughter of the late Holmes Malcolm “Shorty” Carroll and Elizabeth Anne Spann Carroll. She was retired from Trion Drugs where she worked as a pharmacy technician and was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Helms enjoyed reading, working word puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Helms; a great grandson, Brody Blackmon; sisters, Beatrice Agee and Ruby Sanders; brothers, Tommy Carroll and Mark Carroll; and a son-in-law, James Snow.
Mrs. Helms is survived by a daughter, Teresa Snow; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sandy Helms, David and Kate Helms and Jeff and Tracy Helms; grandchildren, Jaime Blackmon, Saisha Gray, Blaklee Crabtree, Mandy Durham, Chais Helms and James David “JD” Helms; 12 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Helms will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Waters, Rev. James Hannah, Rev. Jody Brock and Rev. Kenneth Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Zack Crabtree, Easton Camp, Chais Helms, James David Helms, Braxton Blackmon, Camron Durham, Jeremy Blackmon and Reece Crabtree. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Amedysis Home Health and the Fresenius Dialysis Clinic.
Mrs. Helms’ family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Coffman Funeral Home. They will also receive friends from 12:00 Noon Tuesday until the funeral hour.
