The Cloudland Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Trunk or Treat at Cloudland Community Park on Saturday October 29th from 3-5 pm. The public is welcomed to attend.

The Menlo Lions Club will be making their famous Brunswick Stew on the 4th of November. Pick up will be Saturday the 5th between 7 and 10 am. Price is 8 dollars a quart or 30 dollars a gallon. MR. MAX RUSSELL BALDWIN, Sr., age 85, of Dry Valley Church Road Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday August 25th, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Summerville, Georgia on March 5, 1937, son of the late Archie R. and Annie Ruth Baines Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin retired in 1980 as a Major in the United States Army serving in Vietnam two terms and achieved Master Senior Aviator. He was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, the late Gracie Ruth Hall.
Surviving are his loving Wife, Peggy Shamblin Baldwin; Daughter, Virginia Ruth Baldwin; Sons, Max Russell Baldwin II and Patrick S. Baldwin, M.D.; Grandchildren, Cassidy Shea Baldwin, M.D, Dylan Shamblin Baldwin, Catlin Rae Meredith, Max Edwin Kohl, James Ryan Kohl and Islay Ruth Kohl.
Entombment service will be held on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022, at 2:30 P.M. in Greenhills Memory Garden.

There will be a community yard sale at the Menlo City Park this coming Saturday October 22nd from 8am to 5pm. Stan Rosser with Small Town BBQ will be there selling his award winning bbq! Larry Wilbanks will be on site selling peanuts and nachos!
The price is $10 for vendor spots and sellers are required to bring their own table. All items not sold must be cleaned up. All proceeds will go to the Downtown Menlo Beautification Project.

Mrs. Barbara Jean Teems McCrickard age 83 of Centre, AL passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at a local hospital.
Mrs. McCrickard was born December 5, 1938 in Trion, GA to the late James and Mary Garmany Teems. She was retired from Mohawk Industries with over 40 years of service, and she was a faithful member of Sardis Baptist Church always working in the VBS program. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, and person who could always be counted on.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Jack R. McCrickard; and siblings James Teems, Jr., and Diane Bennett.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Robbie McCrickard and John McCrickard; daughter, Melody Ayers; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. McCrickard will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2022 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Teague officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery with Jessie Sartin, Tony Blalock, B.T. Dunn, Jeff Bennett, Jeremy Gorham, Stacey Bullard, Grant Norton, Jerry Bennett, and Chris Duncan serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 until the service hour.

Phillip Brandon McGill, age 48, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at his residence.
Phillip was in Rome, Georgia on October 22, 1973, son of LeBrenda McWhorter Henson and the late Michael McGill. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs (GO DAWGS!) and the Nashville Predators. In his spare time, Phillip loved spending time working on his Jeep and going to the beach, but is favorite activity was spending time with his family. In addition to his father, Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents Mack and Doris McGill and Lewis McWhorter.
Phillip is survived by his wife Beth McGill; a daughter and son-in-law, Keley and Andrew Bartlet; Mother and Step-father, LeBrenda and Ray Henson; sister, Belinda McGill; grandchildren, Kaylaha Bartlett, Octavia Bartlett, Jameson Bartlett; grandmother, Myrtle McWhorter; half brother, Steve McGill; step children, Hannah and Brayden Davenport; step grandchildren, Daniel and Hazel Jones; and a host of additional extended family members and friends.
Memorial Services for Phillip will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Johnson and Rev. Chris Nixon officiating.
There will be a memorial gathering at Coffman Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until the service hour.

Mr. Benjamin “Bennie” Wade age 81 of Summerville, GA passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at a local hospital.
Mr. Wade was born September 1, 1941 in Trion, GA to the late Paul and Mary Whitten Wade. He was retired from Mohawk Industries, was a member of Midway Baptist Church, and enjoyed the outdoors.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Kenny Wade and Linda Orr.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Virginia Wade; sons, Andy Wade, Michael Wade, and Jeff (Samantha) Wade; brothers, Charles Wade, Johnny (Mary) Wade, and Larry Wade; and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Wade will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 19 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Shaver officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until the service hour.

Mrs. Stella Yvonne Bice, age 79, of Summerville, GA passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Bice was born October 27, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Leroy Reynolds, Sr. and Lucille McNelly Reynolds. She was a loving homemaker and mother.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Bice.
Survivors include her son, Kelly Brice, Sr.; and daughters, Tinnie (Tommy) Hayes, Angela Edward Ridley, and Elizabeth (Anthony) Holbrook.
Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bice will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday October 18, 2022, at Subligna Cemetery with Rev. Benjamin Hayes officiating. Pallbearers will be Patrick Scoggins, Jonathan Pritchett, Landon Pritchett, and Steve Owens.
There will be no visitation and those planning to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
