Trion City Schools went on lockdown of its campus Monday around noon when a sixth-grader was found to have an unloaded pistol in his backpack.
Mr. Carlton Hugh Cargle, age 82 of the Little Sand Mountain Community in Armuchee, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at his residence.
Homecoming will be observed Sunday, September 15th, at Four Mile Baptist Church. This special day will began at 10:30 A.M. and former pastor Howard Payne will be the guest preacher. “The Shadrix” will be singing and Dinner will be served. Bro. Joel A Smith, Pastor and Bro. Daniel Smith, Choir Director invites everyone to attend.
Hemphill AME Zion Church on Lee Street in Summerville will celebrate their 131st Anniversary this Sunday, September 8th at 11 AM with Rev. Andrea Watkins-Wright of Crockett Memorial AME Zion Church in Pritchett, AL in the 11 AM service and Rev. Karime Curry from Solid Rock AME Zion Church in Lithonia, GA in the 3 PM service. Lunch will be served at 2 PM. Pastor Rev. Charles A. Watkins, Sr. and Hemphill AME Zion Church invite everyone to attend.
Sardis Baptist Church will be having Homecoming on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 10:30 am. Special singers will be The Davis Trio from Rome, Ga. Jansen Teague will be bringing the morning message. Lunch will be served on the ground. Everyone is invited to come and fellowship and receive a blessing.

Rev. PAUL L. EDGEWORTH, age 75, of Susie Lane Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at his residence.
