Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black has announced the issuance of $700,000 in grants to assist with spaying and neutering Georgia’s companion animal population. Eligible applicants can complete the online application for grant funds beginning May 1.

A confirmed case is defined as a person who has tested positive for 2019 novel coronavirus.
Due to scheduling difficulties, WZQZ was not able to connect with Georgia Insurance Commissioner John King on Thursday. Commissioner King’s office said that they would try to reschedule the interview for next week. King, who is a Major-General in the Georgia National Guard has been on deployment during the COVID-19 pandemic. King is currently assisting in setting up temporary hospital facilities in New Jersey and Louisianan to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has now reached 5,610 – with a total of 178 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.

As our country is experiencing uncertain times, Trion City Schools remains hopeful for the future and seized an opportunity to begin anew. Sean Patrick has signed on as the new head varsity football coach of the Bulldogs, and he is planning to implement a layered approach to a successful football program. In addition, Patrick wants to build on a school culture designed for all students to achieve maximum success.
