On November 16, 2022, Jonathan Alexander, a 49-year-old man from Walker County, was convicted of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. The evidence presented at trial showed that on February 7, 2022 law enforcement arrived at Jonathan Alexander’s camper residence, located on 511 Cook Road in Walker County with members of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and Department of Community Supervision.

The first will be at the Summerville Christmas Parade on Friday evening. The second will be at the Chattooga County 4H Breakfast with Santa at the Chattooga County Ag Center on Saturday. The third opportunity will be Sunday afternoon from 1 PM – 4 PM at 292 East Washington Street in Summerville. Santa’s visits on East Washington Street are always free and open to anyone who wants to come by.

A twenty-five-year-old Summerville man was killed in an automobile accident in Floyd County on Sunday. Floyd County Police say that the accident happened on Georgia 101 in the Silver Creek area.

The City of Summerville is gearing up for the 2022 Christmas Parade, to be held this Friday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. This year’s parade theme is “Winter Wonderland”. Summerville Main Street will present live musical entertainment featuring Charlie Long in front of the Chattooga County Courthouse beginning at 5:30 p.m. until the start of the parade. Downtown businesses and restaurants invite the public to shop and enjoy a meal before or after the parade.
