A twenty-seven-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested this week on charges of statutory rape. Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader told WZQZ News that Cameron Felton was arrested after a complaint about him living with a fifteen-year-old juvenile outside of Trion. Sheriff Schrader said that when investigators went to the address, they found the two had been living together and were having a sexual relationship. Felton was arrested on statutory rape charges and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Tuesday of this week.

A wanted fugitive from Walker County has died after an exchange of gunfire with U.S. Marshals early Wednesday morning at Shallowford Road hotel in Chattanooga.

This week, Attorney General Chris Carr announced that the State of Georgia, along with 39 other states, has joined a $391.5 million multistate settlement with Google over its location tracking practices. This is the largest multistate privacy settlement reached by a coalition of attorneys general in the history of the United States. Georgia will receive more than $12.4 million from the settlement.
