On Thursday of last week, Attorney General Chris Carr announced that the Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division helped more than 206,000 consumers and obtained civil recoveries totaling over $178 million for Georgians and the state between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022 (FY 2022).

At last week’s Summerville City Council meeting, the council voted to raise the garbage fee for City of Summerville residents. The city contracts with Wright Sanitation in Summerville to collect the garbage. Also, the city offers free pickup of limbs and debris for Summerville residents.

Summerville Police were called to a Favor Street address this past week after a businessman reported a theft. When a responding officer arrived on the scene and spoke with the complainant, he told them that he returned to work after being out of town for a few days and found that several of the vehicles he had purchased for resale had been tampered with. Scott Ballard told the officer that someone had stolen several catalytic converters off the vehicles. The incident was turned over to an investigator with the Summerville Police Department. The incident was reported on Wednesday of last week.
