A 98-year-old World War II pilot and aviation pioneer will lead the veteran’s recognition parade during WONG 2022, the 10th Annual Wings Over North Georgia Air Show on Oct. 15-16 in Rome, GA at the Richard Russel Regional Airport.
People who travel in the Big Texas Valley area of Floyd County need to watch for new weight restrictions on a bridge on Big Texas Valley Road. Floyd County Public Works announced late last week that there will be new weight restrictions on Cabin Creek Bridge. Two-axle trucks (H-truck) are limited to 16 tons. Type-3 trucks are also limited to 16 tons and timber trucks are limited to 21 tons. Anyone with questions should contact Floyd County Public Works at 706-236-2495.

Chattooga Middle School girls basketball tryouts will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Middle School students from Summerville Middle School, Lyerly and Menlo are welcome to tryout. Students will need to have a physical and a copy of insurance on file. Tryouts will be from 4 PM – 6 PM each day.
