Here is the latest arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, October 25, 2022:
The Chattooga County Land Use Committee is meeting this evening at 7 PM. At the last meeting, the committee asked citizens with concerns about the land use ordinance to submit their concerns in writing to the committee. The meeting will be held at the Chattooga County Civic Center, located on Highway 48 in Summerville across from Truist Bank. A group of concerned citizens has started a petition to overturn the ordinance that was signed by Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry earlier this year. Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler has announced that Georgia’s job numbers increased almost 13,000 over the month to a new all-time high. The September unemployment rate remained an all-time low of 2.8 percent for the third consecutive month. Georgia’s unemployment rate was seven-tenths of a percent lower than the national September 2022 unemployment rate of 3.5 percent.
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park has announced the lineup of interpretive programs available at the park during the month of November. In addition to hikes at the scenic North Georgia battlefield, there are also artillery demonstrations and talks about the life of a Civil War soldier, sharpshooters and the Western & Atlantic Railroad. The Walker County Sheriff’s office has arrested a third person in connection with the murder of Dakota Bradshaw.
A candlelight memorial service honoring patients and families served by Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Heyman Hospice Care will take place this evening at 6 PM. The event will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 911 N. Broad St.
Earlier this month, Summerville Police arrested a woman at a checkpoint near Penn Street after she was found to be in possession of drugs, including Fentanyl.
The Chattooga High School future health professionals – HOSA – will be hosting a mother-son dance coming up this Saturday, October 29th. The mother-son dance will be held at 6 PM at Chattooga High School. Participants are urged to come dressed for Halloween. There will be a costume contest at the dance. The mother-son dance is for children ages 3-13.
