Train Collision In Lindale On Saturday

A train accident in Lindale in neighboring Floyd County was reported at 4:15 AM on Saturday morning.  The accident and resulting collision hampered traffic from Lindale to Riverbend Center in Rome.   Rome police say that two coal cars came off the track near Park Avenue.  One of the engines broke loose and continued towards Rome, colliding with a southbound train off Riverbend.  A diesel fuel leak was quickly contained and there were no other environmental or hazmat concerns.  There were no injuries reported.
