The Town of Trion council voted on Thursday of last week to award the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair $5000 for the fair which will be held at the end of next month. The Town of Trion has consistently supported the Chattooga County Ag Fair since its comeback in 2014. The fair operates solely on donations and the money that is made each year from ticket sales, sponsors and vendors. The fair council appreciates the donation from the Town of Trion for this year’s fair.
A man who has been arrested multiple times for child-sex crimes in both Chattooga and Floyd Counties was arrested again last week for violating the terms of his probation.

Atrium Health Floyd is expanding services in Chattooga County over the next several months. Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry has awarded the EMS contract to Atrium Health Floyd and in May of this year, the organization committed to building a free-standing emergency department in Chattooga County.
