Suspension of Certain Poultry & Feathered Fowl Activities Is Lifted

The Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) is today announcing that the suspension of certain poultry and feathered fowl activities that was issued on February 16, 2022, has been lifted. Effective immediately, exhibitions, shows, sales (flea markets, auction markets), swaps, and meets pertaining to poultry and feathered fowl can resume within the state of Georgia. GDA urges poultry producers attending such events to follow strict biosecurity.

Friends Of Sloppy Floyd Selling Ice Cream Today

The Friends of Sloppy Floyd State Park are inviting you out to Chattooga County’s local Georgia State Park. It’s going to be a great weekend to take your family and friends out to the park to celebrate the 4th of July. As an added bonus, the Friends of Sloppy Floyd will be selling homemade ice cream Saturday beginning at 11:00. Flavors will include chocolate, vanilla, peach, cherry, key lime, strawberry, orange crush, and lemon. The cost is just $2 a cup and will go to support the many improvement and maintenance projects that Friends of the Park does year-round at Sloppy Floyd.
