Bryan David Somers has been sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison for the receipt and distribution of child pornography. Prior to his arrest, Somers was an EMT and a substitute teacher at a local elementary school.
On Thursday, June 9, 2022, the GBI arrested and charged Greenville Police Officer Rory Haynes, age 54, of Greenville, Meriwether County, GA, with one count of computer invasion of privacy, one count of unauthorized request or disclosures of criminal history information, and one count of violation of oath of office. Sheriff Mark Scrader issued the following about Friday night’s fatal single vehicle wreck on Halls Valley Drive:”Joshua Brown, age 35, of Ridgeway Drive, Trion was the victim from yesterdays fatal motor scooter crash on Halls Valley Drive north of Trion.”
Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader confirmed that there was a fatality in a single vehicle crash on Halls Valley Drive in Trion on Friday evening. Sheriff Schrader asked for the public to avoid the area while law enforcement investigated the crash. Details of the accident have not been released.
