Pedestrian Struck & Killed On Turner McCall Monday Morning

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome on Monday morning.  Rome Police responded to the scene of the fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle and closed a portion of Turner McCall near Zaxby’s while they investigated the accident.

Summerville City Council Called Meeting This Evening

The Summerville City Council will hold a called meeting this evening at 6 PM at Summerville City Hall.   The council is expected to open sealed bids for the relocation of gas lines at the Raccoon Creek Bridge on Highway 48.   Earlier this year, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced that they would be rebuilding the bridge.  Since the city has utilities that run across the bridge, it will be the responsibility of the city to relocate the utilities.  Also on this evening’s agenda, the council will be discussing the budget.  You can see the complete agenda for the meeting below:

Northwest Woman’s Death Being Investigated By Police

Police in Cartersville, Georgia are investigating the death of a woman who was found unresponsive in her vehicle on Postelle Street.   According to a police report, an officer had seen the woman in the vehicle around 8 AM.  Later that evening, the officer observed the vehicle in the same spot.  Around 11:30 on Friday morning, police saw the vehicle – still in the same parking lot – and investigated.  When they looked inside, the woman was not breathing.  Police found suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.  The incident remains under investigation.
