One of the candidates in the Republican Primary for Georgia State Senate in District 52 is being disqualified. Up until this year, a small portion of Chattooga County was included in the 52nd District.

The Town of Trion is inviting the public to their Memorial Day celebration to be held on Saturday, May 28th at 1 PM at the Trion Veterans Memorial located at 210 Simmons Street in Trion. The program will include dedication of new pavers that have been added to the Veterans Memorial. The keynote address will be from Greg Baker, First Sergeant – U.S. Army. MRS. DIANNE BLACKWELL, age 75, of Marble Springs Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2022, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.
