Damage To Property Reported On Friday Morning

A resident on Back Penn Road reported that someone had thrown a “Molotov cocktail” over his fence at a car belonging to another woman.

The complainant said the incident happened sometime after midnight when a car drove by and threw the incendiary device over the fence at a vehicle belonging to Alicia Hudgens.  The responding deputy found a broken beer bottle on the scene and a small pile of ashes.

The incident was turned over to an investigator.

Georgia Lottery Raised $367.2 Million In Third Quarter

Governor Brian P. Kemp and the Georgia Lottery Corp. announced it raised $367,233,000 in profits for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022, bringing the total transferred to the State Treasury’s Lottery for Education Account since inception to more than $24.9 billion.

Charlie Street Man Reports Money Stolen

A Charlie Street, Summerville man reported a theft to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office this week.  The complainant told a responding deputy that someone had come inside his residence and stole $160.  The money was being saved to pay rent, according to the complainant.  The man asked for a report to be filed so that he could provide it to his landlord.  The complainant did not give any possible suspect’s names to the deputy, according to the report.

Summerville Man Cited For Stealing Utilities

A Summerville man was cited for stealing utilities this week after city workers notified the Summerville Police Department that someone had been tampering with meters.
