The Summerville City Council will have a called meeting coming up on Monday evening. The agenda for the meeting shows that council will be hearing from Summerville City Attorney Albert Palmour and will also be reviewing a financial report from Summerville City Manager Janice Galloway. The meeting gets underway at 5 PM at Summerville City Hall and is open to the public.

Summerville Police arrested a twenty-nine-year-old Trion man this week after they say he attempted to gain entry into an automobile at the Chattooga County Courthouse. Police say that Matthew Spencer Adams of a Williams Shortcut Road address was seen walking around cars at the courthouse and officers observed him try to gain entry into a vehicle. Adams was charged with loitering and prowling and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Tuesday of this week.

MRS. LAURA DEAN STEWART KNOWLES – AGE 83, – Of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was born on May 13, 1938 to the late Lonnie Stewart and Laura Finley Stewart. She was preceded by her husband, Henry Knowles, sister, Annie Mae Glanton, and brothers, Earl Finley, and Lacell Stewart. She was a faithful dedicated member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
