A twenty-three-year-old Halls Valley Road man made matters worse after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant by Summerville Police.
State Rep. Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee) has released his weekly legislative report. Lumsden said that the fourth week of the legislative session has put the Georgia General Assembly more than a quarter of the way through the legislative session. Lumsden said lawmakers have been dealing with the issue of a shortage of teachers in Georgia. One solution being offered would allow retired teachers to return to the classroom fulltime while receiving their full retirement benefits. A single-vehicle wreck on I-75 in Gordon County early Monday morning claimed the life of a 65-year old woman.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Rocky Hollow Road, Trion address last Friday after a call about people refusing to leave the property.
A Lyerly man filed a report about a neighbor that has been causing problems and told a responding deputy that the neighbor has been “screaming and yelling”, along with other breaches of the peace.
The City of Menlo says that the boil water advisory has now been lifted. The city had issued a boil water advisory over the weekend and kept in place at the recommendation of the Georgia EPD on Monday and into Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon at 4:15, the City of Menlo notified WZQZ News that the boil water advisory has expired.
