Chattooga High School and Head Football Coach Roone Gable are pleased to announce that 30 plus year coaching veteran Danny Wilson has agreed to become Defensive Coordinator for the Indians.
Agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force arrested a fifty-one-year-old Lyerly man and charged him with possession of methamphetamine. Agents say that James Melvin Bentley had methamphetamine, marijuana and hydrocodone pills in his possession when he was arrested on January 17th. The drug task force says that Bentley had more than 40 grams of methamphetamine, a bag of pot and several of the pills. He has been charged with methamphetamine possession and possession with attempt to distribute. He is additionally charged with possession of a Schedule II substance and possession of marijuana.
Summerville Police were able to recover tools stolen from a Summerville auto repair shop after the burglar who was accused of taking the tools posted the stolen goods on Facebook Marketplace.

Menlo Lions Club will be making Brunswick Stew on Saturday, February 3, 2023 and pickup will be Saturday morning between 7 AM and 10 AM. Price is $8 a quart or $30 a gallon. The stew sales helps the Menlo Lions Club give $500 scholarships to Chattooga High School students who are going off to college next fall. The commission in charge of the state’s medical marijuana program met on Wednesday of this week and adopted rules for the manufacture and sale of low-THC cannabis oil for medicinal use. The commission was created in 2019 by the Georgia General Assembly.

The Summerville City Council will have the second reading of the Fiscal Year, Mid-Year Budget at a called meeting that is scheduled for Monday February 13, 2023 at Summerville City Hall. The meeting will be held at 5 PM and the public is invited to attend.
