Law Enforcement Urges Travel Safety All Weekend

The Georgia State Patrol and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety remind travelers to avoid getting a ticket during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend by remembering to click the seat belt before every trip.  While Thanksgiving Day has passed, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shoppers will be out in force this weekend, and troopers along with local law enforcement are reminding drivers that holiday traffic enforcement will still be active throughout the weekend.

Chattooga Senior Center Getting New Carpet Thanks To Mohawk

One of Chattooga County’s largest employers, Mohawk Industries has donated carpet to the Chattooga County Senior Center.  The carpet in the facility was in dire need of replacing, and Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry was able to get a donation of carpet that will replace the worn carpet at the building.  The Summerville News reported this week that the carpet is commercial grade like you would see in a hotel or restaurant.  Commissioner Elsberry said that he was grateful to Mohawk and local employee Mickey McGraw for the donation to the county’s Senior Center.
