Georgia gas prices experienced a slight increase. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $3.25 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 2 cents more than a week ago, 27 cents more than last month and $1.29 more than this time last year.
Rainy weather plagued Halloween activities on Friday and Saturday, but the skies cleared and Sunday – Halloween Day – turned out quite nice. The Town of Lyerly moved their activities at Angus McLeod Park to Sunday evening after a rainy forecast earlier in the weekend – and it proved to be a popular decision. Lots of kids lined up for Trunk-or-Treat and free hot dogs and popcorn at the event on Sunday evening.
The Houston Astros fended off elimination on Sunday night and denied the Atlanta Braves the chance to win the 2021 World Series at their home ballpark. The Astros defeated the Atlanta Braves in Game 5 of the World Series by a 9-5 final (box score) to force Game 6 and a return trip to Houston. The Astros still trail in the best-of-seven series by a 3-2 margin, and Atlanta remains one win away from its first championship since 1995.
