A 64-year old Shannon man is facing 27 counts of cruelty to animals and two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals following his arrest Monday.

The GHSA informed Chattooga High School on Wednesday that due to imminent weather forecasted to affect the Columbus area early Thursday morning (10/28/2021), game times have been changed. Opening ceremonies will occur at 12:00 noon and the Chattooga Lady Indians will play at 4:00 pm tomorrow afternoon.
Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced on Wednesday that Sung Park, 90, was killed in a Floyd County fire that occurred at 1:55 a.m. on Monday, October 4th. The fire moderately damaged the home on Donley Drive in Rome.
