Summerville Police responded to a 911 call about two people involved in a domestic dispute on Sunday on Woodland Avenue, and ended up arresting one of the subjects for drug possession.

Summerville Police arrested a forty-seven-year-old woman on Wednesday afternoon after receiving complaints about someone peeping in windows on Pink Dogwood Lane. Chattooga 911 notified police who found the woman on East Washington Street near Pink Dogwood Lane. Police say that the suspect, identified as Kimberly Dawn Perry, was “screaming and yelling” and refused to get out of the roadway. Perry refused to obey commands from the officers and was arrested and charged with public intoxication and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.

An uptick in COVID-19 cases has prompted one hospital in Northwest Georgia to reinstate its mask policy. Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is bringing back masks requirements for staff and visitors, citing “the current COVID-19 high transmission rate in Bartow County”.

A Rome woman was arrested at a motel in Trion on drug charges two days after Christmas. The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force went to the Carousel Inn and found Cynthia Perez in a room with suspected methamphetamine. There were three bags of the suspected drugs, along with a digital scale. Perez was arrested and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute.

A fifty-nine-year-old sex offender was arrested this week in Chattooga County for failing to register properly. Donna Jean Shreve was arrested by Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Wednesday. Records show that Shreve was convicted of sex crimes in Florida. In 1994, Shreve was charged with performing lewd or lascivious acts on a child under the age of 16. Georgia law says that sex offenders must register with the sheriff’s department in the county in which they reside, within 72 hours of changing addresses.

The Chattooga County Land Development Commission has posted a notice about a meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Chattooga County Civic Center. The commission says that the purpose of the meeting is to review changes made to the land development ordinance and allow for public input.

A 71-year-old Douglasville man was arrested in Floyd County on Tuesday on charges of aggravated child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, and use of a computer service to entice a child.
