Mr. Grady Ernest “G.E.” Schrader, Jr., age 80, of Trion, GA, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held today for former Walker County Sole Commissioner Bebe Heiskel. The Pennsylvania native who adopted Walker County as her home had a long history in politics in Walker County.

Georgia gas prices decreased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $2.91 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 2 cents less than a week ago, 22 cents more than last month and $1.16 more than this time last year.
Kids are out of school for the summer and once again, the Chattooga County Summer Feeding Program will be providing free meals for students throughout the summer break. The meals will start next week, on Monday June 7th and continue through July 12th.
