From Trion School Supt. Dr. Phil Williams: Due to the possibility of severe weather and flooding, Trion City Schools will be on a two hour delay tomorrow.

After careful consideration of the weather forecast for our area overnight and into Thursday morning and taking guidance from our local EMA and the National Weather Service, the Chattooga County Schools System will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday (3/18/2021).

A report of a car off the bridge on Lyerly Dam Road came into Chattooga 911 overnight on Tuesday. When law enforcement and emergency responders arrived the driver had already fled the scene of the accident. Local first responders determined that there were no other victims in the car and the vehicle was retrieved from the Chattooga River.
