Redmond Regional Medical Center is the third hospital in Georgia to be designated a Level 1 Emergency Cardiac Care Center by the Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of EMS and Trauma. Level 1 is Georgia’s highest level of recognition for emergency cardiac care. Redmond is the only hospital in Northwest Georgia with an Emergency Cardiac Care Center designation.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced new spending plans for federal COVID-19 aid to schools Tuesday as the state’s newly confirmed infection numbers continue to fall but remain the highest per capita in the nation.
William Eric Scoggins, age fourty-five of Summerville, was arrested in Rome after he allegedly wrote a check for $1,183.21 and then cash it after already receiving the money electronically.
The incident occurred at the Hop N Shop on Calhoun Avenue.
Scoggins is charged with theft by taking and a seat belt violation.
The Chattooga County Board of Education made the decision to go back to an amended four-day school week schedule on Thursday evening, but that wasn’t the only news from Thursday’s meeting.
First-time claims for unemployment insurance were down slightly last month in Chattooga County when compared to the month before.
Michael Sean Conner has been sentenced for a violent carjacking he attempted in Adairsville, Georgia, during which he shot a young man asleep in his truck. Conner will serve this sentence consecutively to a seven-year sentence for a previous carjacking conviction in Tennessee, for a total sentence of 35 years of confinement.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Echocardiography student Christina Bullock has been named a 2020 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) finalist while Mandy Jones, General Education English instructor, has been chosen as a 2020 Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year finalist by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG).
