The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) announced in a statement Friday the board of trustees will convene to discuss concerns of opening of fall sports this coming Monday at 1 PM at GHSA’s head office in Thomaston.
Reno Lambert, the administrator at Oakview Health & Rehabilitation in Summerville, told WZQZ News on Friday that a worker at the facility has tested positive for COVID-19.
Chattooga County Public Works Director Joe Reed says that the county’s dump site in the Trion area will be closed this week due to roadwork by the Town of Trion in the area. The road repair is going to require relocation of utility poles and is expected to last about a week. Joe Reed said that residents that normally use that dump site should bring their trash to the county transfer station on Stockade Road in Summerville. The dump site is expected to reopen next week.

On Tuesday of this week a Chattooga County Deputy was called to a residence on Highway 100 in Summerville after an employee with Chattooga County Animal Control asked that an incident report be filed concerning an animal welfare call.
