Record Early Vote Turnout Across The State And In Chattooga County

With one day of early voting left, over 50% of active Georgia voters have already cast ballots in the November elections. Of the 7,221,291 active registered voters eligible to vote in the November elections in Georgia, 3,708,214, or 51.35% have already cast ballots as of Friday morning. In Chattooga County, 6,761 ballots have been cast already. An unprecedented 48% of Chattooga County’s eligible active voters have already turned out to vote.

Summerville Announces Road Closure Due To Waterline Installation

The City of Summerville continues their work on Filter Plant Road to connect two wells off Highway 48 to the Filter Plant.  Due to that work, on Monday, November 2nd between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm the entrance of Filter Plant Rd at Hwy 48 will be closed. The City of Summerville Public Works Dept will be installing a water main. All access for Filter Plant Road will need to be entered from Back Berryton Road.

Animal Advocates Offering Free Pine Straw For Pets

With colder temperatures headed to Northwest Georgia this weekend, Animal Advocates of Chattooga County is providing a free bale of wheat straw to help keep your fur babies warm. One bale per family can be picked up at Pine Ridge Outdoor in Lyerly or Southern Living in Trion.
