Local COVID-19 Testing On Tuesdays

The Chattooga County Health Department reminds residents that COVID-19 testing takes place on Tuesdays of each week at North Summerville Baptist Church’s parking lot from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.  The tests are free and available to anyone.  You do not need an appointment to be tested.

Cherokee County Coroner Announces Resignation

Dr. Jeremy Deaton, the Cherokee County, Alabama coroner has announced his resignation.  Dr. Deaton submitted his resignation to Alabama Governor Kay Ivey on Friday.  Dr. Deaton said that he was resigning for health reasons and has been undergoing treatments since earlier this year.  Governor Ivey will name a replacement for Dr. Deaton to fill the constitutional position in Cherokee County.
