A 40-year old Rome man was jailed Thursday, accused of selling cocaine.
According to Floyd County Jail records and arrest warrants, William Henry Creamer of an Alabama Road address sold cocaine to a cooperating witness at a location on Redmond Circle on July 27 and on August 17 at a location on Lavender Drive.
Creamer is charged with three counts each of the sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute.

Weaver is charged with disorderly conduct.

The Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) will host its Third Annual Advocacy Days starting January 30, 2019 during the Georgia General Assembly legislative session. Five different Advocacy Days will focus on policies affecting people with disabilities and bring together advocates from across the state to speak with elected officials about various important issues. Topics will include DD Waiver Waiting List, Employment, Inclusive Post-Secondary Education, Direct Support Professionals and Home and Community Based Services.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Watch for north and central Georgia, including Chattooga and surround counties, from 7 PM Thursday through Saturday morning.
Last Friday around 2:30 PM, Jill Whitten filed a report at the county sheriff’s office that her identity had been compromised and used to commit financial fraud.
“Whitten stated that she had opened up a Straight Talk account on (November 29th) and found that her identity had been used and a charge of $45.41 had been made to her financial institution. Whitten spoke with Wal-Mart where she opened up the account and was directed to file a police report.”
The case is currently under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
A Summerville city employee reported possible water theft last Thursday, according to incident reports from the sheriff’s office.
A sheriff’s deputy spoke with city employee William Allen, who informed him that a water meter at a Carol Drive residence was locked on November 3rd, 2017 with a reading of 1036. However, when the meter had been checked (on the day of the report), the lock had been cut and the water turned back on, with the meter reading 1057.
The deputy tried unsuccessfully to make contact with anyone at the address, but the name of the current resident was submitted to the sheriff’s office by the city.
