According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake greeted northwest Georgia Friday morning just seconds before 10 AM (EST). Its epicenter was 2.2 miles (3.5 kilometers) north of Plainville, and 5.9 mi. (9.5 km) deep.

The Rome Area Heritage Foundation(RAHF) will present trolley tours of Rome’s historic neighborhoods on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The route will include highlights from Avenue A, Between the Rivers, East Rome, South Rome and Oakdene.
