Mr. James Bryant (Shorty) Bailey, age 91 of Scoggins Street in Summerville passed away Tuesday June 3 at his residnece.  He was born February 23, 1917 in Athens, Alabama a son of the late Addison Delap Bailey.  Mr. Bailey attended the Berryton Church of God, was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater and was a used car dealer.  He was preceded in death by 11 sisters and brothers and a grandson the late Mark Price.

Surving are his wife Mary Evelyn Dover Bailey; son and daughter in law Jimmy and Linda Bailey of Lyerly; daughters Glenda Farrow, Jane and son in law Steve Love of Summerville, along with Patty and John Jennings of Gayelsville, AL.  Marsha Noles of Lafayette, and Cheri Beene of Rome.  Brother Mason Bailey of Lima, Ohio; 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; several neices and nephews survive.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday June 5th at 11 AM from the JD Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Clergymen Tom Russell and Gleason Maxwell officiating.  Interment will be in the Greenhill Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers: Kenny Koonce, Glenn Trapp, Kenneth Shirey, Danny Slover, Jody Thomas and Billy Wood.  Honorary pallbearers: Ronderal Adams, Mike Shiremen, Grandkids, Floyd Home Care and Heyman Hospice.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 9 PM at the Funeral Home.
