Pennville First Baptist Church will host its annual yard sale on Saturday, May 16, with activities beginning at 8 a.m. at the church, located at 77 Moore Street in Summerville.

Organizers say the event will feature a wide variety of items, including household goods and unique finds, with all items available free to the public.

Community members are invited to come out, browse, and enjoy a morning of treasure hunting.

Church officials say the event typically draws a large turnout and offers plenty of opportunities to find useful and unexpected items.

National Day Of Prayer In Chattooga County Set For May 7

The National Day of Prayer in Chattooga County will be observed on Thursday, May 7, beginning at 6:30 PM.

Pastor Gary Howell of United Christian Fellowship says the gathering will be held at the Open Air Pavilion in downtown Summerville. In the event of rain, the observance will be moved to the Chattooga County Ag Center.

The National Day of Prayer is held each year on the first Thursday in May, inviting communities across the country to gather in prayer for the nation, its leaders, families, schools, churches, and local communities.

The public is invited to attend.

Gospel Jamboree at Pond Spring AME Zion Church Twelve Tribes of Israel

Pond Spring AME Zion Church Twelve Tribes of Israel in Lyerly is inviting the community to come together for an afternoon of music and fellowship later this month.

The church will host a Gospel Jamboree at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. Organizers say church and community choirs are welcome to participate in the event, which will celebrate gospel music and community spirit.

Refreshments will be served following the program.

Grace, Grit & Gumption: A Grateful Girls Gathering

Calvary Baptist Church in Summerville is preparing to welcome women from across the community for its annual Ladies’ Spring Banquet.

This year’s event, titled “Grace, Grit & Gumption: A Grateful Girls Gathering,” is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. at the church. Organizers say the banquet is designed to provide a time of fellowship, encouragement, and worship for women of all ages.
