The Center Post Community Center located at 8125 HWY 337 LaFayette, GA will be having a free gospel concert on Saturday January 21, 2023 from 6 pm- 8 pm. The Trion United Methodist Church will have their Brunswick Stew sale this Saturday, January 7, 2023. The stew should be ready around 10 AM and can be picked up under the awning at the fellowship hall. The stew is $9 per quart and is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Alpine Church Live Nativity starts tonight at 7pm thru 9pm and runs through Christmas night. With the extreme low temperatures, they ask that you dress appropriately. The Church and the Fellowship Hall will both be open with hot coffee, hot chocolate and light refreshments.
The Summerville First United Church will hold its annual Candlelight Christmas Eve Service Saturday at 6pm. Carols will be sung, the Christmas story told, and the Advent wreath will be lit for the final time this year as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. This special service concludes with the singing of Silent Night as the light from the Christ candle is passed person to person to shine the light of hope, peace, joy, and love into the world The church is located at the corner of West Washington and Congress Street, 3 blocks from the Courthouse.
