Chattooga County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will conduct new volunteer training on February 16th and February 23rd at the CERT building located at 172 Farrar Drive, Summerville, in the same parking lot with the EMA office. Classes will be from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. both Saturdays. Classes are FREE and class materials will be provided both days. A background check will be conducted prior to graduation from the class on February 23rd. Graduates will receive a CERT pack with basic tools upon completion of the class. Anyone eighteen and older are invited to participate. If you have any questions about the class please go to Chattooga CERT on Facebook and send a private message.

Dutch ovens have been in use for hundreds of years; especially when our country was expanding and families were on the move. Unable to bring their large cook stoves with them, women learned how to cook entire meals from stews and soups to bread and desserts, in their Dutch ovens. Learn the basics about Dutch ovens, how to clean and care for your cookware, and cook (& eat!) dinner and dessert at the same time!
