The Trion Town Council will hold its regular session tomorrow evening, Tuesday, November 27th.
The council normally has its regular sessions on every month’s fourth Thursday, but voted last month to move November’s session to tomorrow to accommodate for the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
The meeting will start at 6 PM in Town Hall on Pine St. WZQZ will have a reporter present to bring you the highlights in upcoming newscasts and posts online.

While out and about doing your holiday shopping, take a break to discover and enjoy Rome’s intown historic areas beautifully trimmed in their holiday best. The Rome Area Heritage Foundation(RAHF) will present trolley tours of Rome’s historic neighborhoods on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The route will include highlights from Avenue A, Between the Rivers, East Rome, South Rome and Oakdene.
The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce will hold its last luncheon of the year at Sweet P’s at The Tavern in Trion. The luncheon will serve as a celebration of the graduation of the chamber’s 2018 Leadership Class.
The Salvation Army will hold its annual “Holiday Can-a-Thon” this coming Friday, November 30th at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds. It will start at 7 AM and last until 1 PM.
They will be receiving donations of canned goods that can be donated to families in need.
The charitable effort works to reduce food scarcity in the Rome and Floyd County area, annually providing well over 1000 households each year with something to eat.
Congratulations to this week’s Birthday and Anniversary Club winner, Caden Blalock. Caden will receive an arrangement from Duff’s Flowers, a $25 gift certificate to Menlo Family Restaurant and a BBQ combo from Big Boys BBQ. Prizes can be picked up within 7 days from Duff’s Flowers. The Dollar General Store on Commerce Street in Summerville is planning a Toy Drive and fundraiser that will benefit Toys for Tots and Santa in Uniform.
The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon on Tuesday, December 11th.
It will begin at 12 noon and last until 1 PM at Sweet P’s at The Tavern, located at205 Central Avenue in Trion.
