All aboard The Summerville Santa Special! This enchanting 75 minute train excursion departs from the Historic Summerville Depot each weekend in December, through December 23.

The Trion Town council and the Chattooga Board of Education each plan to hold their respective meetings this coming Thursday.
The annual Fly-In & Cruise-In at the Lafayette Airport will be this coming Saturday, September 22. This FREE event will start at 10 AM and finish up at 3 PM. Attendees will get to see a historic DC-3 airplane, one of the world’s first airliners.
Helicopter and airplane rides will be available and there will be inflatable bounce houses for children. Cotton candy, popcorn, and other concessions will be sold.
The Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources division will be celebrating National Hunting and Fishing Day this Saturday by sponsoring fun activities at all of Georgia’s state parks. In addition, a free day of fishing will be available to all of Georgia’s residents: for the entire day, all Georgia residents can fish at at of the state’s public waters without a fishing or trout license, free of charge..
Trion FCCLA is happy to announce the winner of the Tennessee/ Georgia Football Tickets prize package. FCCLA members sold over 500 tickets it help raise money to help with community service projects, activities, and attend conferences. The LUCKY winner is Brandon Croy. he purchased his ticket from Margelen Sumner at the Trion Denim Days on Saturday. Congratulations to Mr. Croy
Sandra Hampton Walters is the winner of this week’s Birthday & Anniversary Club. Sandra will receive an arrangement from Duff’s Flowers, a BBQ Combo from Big Boy’s BBQ in Pennville and a gift certificate to Menlo Restaurant. She can go by Duff’s and pick up her prizes within the next seven days.
The September Chamber of Commerce Luncheon is coming up Tuesday, September 18 at 12 noon at the Chattooga County Civic Center. The Chamber invites Chattooga County businesses to RSVP and attend.
This month’s Luncheon presentation will be presented by Deb Stowe representing the Chattooga County Boys and Girls Club. Ms. Stowe will discuss the club’s growth and share heart-warming stories of its members. Volunteer opportunities will also be discussed, and Summerville’s Los Maguey will provide a fajita bar for lunch.

The City of Summerville will host a Fall-themed Customer Appreciation Day to say ‘thank you’ to all of their customers and business partners. The event will include free refreshments and small pumpkins. It will be held on October 3rd from 8 AM to 4 PM at the Summerville City Hall.

The Chattooga County Board of Education will be meeting next Thursday evening, at the Education Center located on Penn Street in Summerville. The meeting will get underway at 6 PM. The public is invited to attend. WZQZ will have a report on the meeting in upcoming broadcasts.
