The First United Methodist Church of Summerville is sponsoring a Blood Drive Tuesday November 21, 2017, 1:00-6:00 PM. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall at the church. All donors will have a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to Red Lobster.

Mark your calendars to be at McDonald’s in Summerville December 5, because from 5-7 PM, Menlo Elementary School teachers will be participating in McTeacher Night, and will help serve customers their favorite McDonald’s meals. Menlo School earns a percentage of the sales earned that night, and it can be a great way to support your local school while grabbing a quick bite to eat, or supper for the whole family.
The QPR Institute (which stands for Question, Persuade, Refer), will have a suicide prevention/recognition information session at the Chattooga County Library Thursday, November 30. It will be 11:30 AM – 1:15 PM.
Their press release states: “In the time it takes to watch a movie, you can learn how to save a life. Just like with CPR for heart attacks, anyone can learn how to recognize and help someone experiencing suicide thoughts and behaviors using three basic skills taught in QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer).”

The Summerville City Council will have its regularly scheduled meeting this evening at 5 PM at city hall. The public is invited to attend.
Next weekend, Cloudland Canyon in Rising, Fawn, GA will be hosting three events, including a beginner’s bike ride, a moderate-intensity hike, and a leisurely sunset walk.
The Chattooga County Beekeepers’ monthly meeting will be November 14, 7 PM at the Chattooga County Ag. center.
There will be a Veterans Day Program and Dedication of Veterans Markers at Dowdy Park this morning at 11 AM.
