Press Release: Royalty, fairies, pirates, and more will be found on the streets of Summerville, Georgia during the third annual Summerville Mini Renaissance Festival, scheduled for November 4. Festivities will kick off at 10 AM with an official welcome from “King Henry” on the front deck of the Summerville Depot. Festivities will be located along East Washington Street, inside and outside of the Summerville Depot, and through the railroad turntable. Admission is free.

Press release: Lyerly Elementary School will honor their veterans on Friday, November 10th at 9 AM in the Media center. Refreshments will be provided.
Lyerly Elementary School Title I Math Night will be held on Tuesday, November 7th from 5:30-7:00 PM. Hotdog supper will be provided from 5:30-6:00 PM. Parents will then be dismissed to go to classrooms for Math activity’s and to discuss the non-negotiables for each grade level.

Today marks the start of a pair of food-themed events at the depot his weekend. Today, the city of Summerville will celebrate German traditions and food with Oktoberfest, featuring German beers, cuisine, music, and more. Then tomorrow, at the “Old-Fashioned Sunday Dinner”, guests can hear old-timey bluegrass music, see the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train, and buy country cooking from servers dressed in antique clothes. Hot dogs and crafts for sell. NAMI walk helps to raise funds and awareness to help change perceptions about mental illness.
Lookout Mountain Community Services will hold a hiring event on Monday, October 23rd at the Chattooga County Civic Center from 10-2. They will be taking applications and resumes for all positions currently vacant. Also, representatives will be on hand to complete interviews for those who meet qualifications for the vacant positions at Magnolia CLA in Summerville.
