The Rome Fred’s Pharmacy will be hosting a ‘Health and Safety Day’ with the Rome Fire Department on Aug. 5.
The Chattooga County Library Board of Trustees will hold their next quarterly meeting Thursday, August 10th at 4:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Summerville Library, 360 Farrar Drive, Summerville, GA.
The Walker County Extension Office, Commissioner’s Office, and County Chamber will be sponsoring Walker County’s first agricultural festival on September 30th.
Trion City Schools will hold orientation for each grade level on these listed days and times.
The Chattooga County Pre-K Program will be taking applications Tuesday-Friday from 8:00-4:00 daily for the Summerville and Menlo Pre-K classes. To qualify children should be four-years old by September 1, 2017 and reside in the county. The pre-k program is funded by the Georgia Lottery and is free to qualifying four-year olds. There are no income guidelines and bus transportation is available.

Cloudland Park 5K Fun Run/Walk to be held July 1st. Begins at 8 am, runners/walkers need to be at the park by 7:45 am. Registration fee is $20 the day of the event and pre-registration $15. This includes free T-shirt. Lunch will be Holy Smokes BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, chips, pickle, and a drink for $5.00. There will also be a raffle, bingo, and other activities.
The Chattooga County Local Emergency Planning Committee will be held a the Chattooga County Civic Center on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 8:15 a.m. All current members, local law enforcement and elected officials are encouraged to attend.
The Trion Board of Education meeting for June has been moved from June 19th to June 26, 2017. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm at the Trion Board of Education office located at 239 Simmons Street in Trion.
