Preparations are underway for the 15th annual community wide Thanksgiving dinner to be held on November 25th at Son Rise Community Church, located in the Save a lot shopping center. Names are now accepted for residents of Chattooga County who want to receive a meal. Meals are provided free of charge to individuals who live alone, or are homebound and those who cannot afford a meal.Donations of food, money and volunteer time are needed. On Tuesday, November 17th from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, There will be a drop by or stay as long as you wish time of appreciation from the Members of The Chattooga Chapter of the Blind and Visually Impaired. The event will take place in the Chattooga Room of the Summerville Branch of the Chattooga County Library. There will be good food and a very special time of appreciation.
Many groups, pastors and churches, elected officials and others will be recognized for their dedication and support of helping the blind and visually impaired. Everyone is welcomed to come by and visit and learn more about vision loss, vision resources, braille, and the American and Georgia Council of the Blind.
